Papa, mummy and I lunched together in Arab Street, at my favourite restaurant in the world- a Deli Moroccan that has super affordable and yummy Moroccan food
Their Moroccan tea is the yummiest thing- Sweet and minty and thick. It beats my favourite earl grey!
Papi had the time of his life dancing with two Keluak shakers.Mummy ran away while he was performing for two tourists.
"Wifey, why are you embarrassed of your husband?"
"Oh, darling."
We shopped around a bit.My father has the wierdest taste in clothes and accessories and all things girly.
Mother and I said that he'd be the coolest weird girl if he was a girl.
Have I mentioned before that our family decided that if he were a female he'd be called Martha?

We polished off our afternoon with ice-cream from Pluck,
which is my favourite ice-cream place in the world.
We had Lychee Martini, Sea Salt Caramel, Raspberry Sorbet and Earl Grey.
Sea Salt Caramel is mummy's favourite
while papa's is Lychee Martini. He always goes for the local flavours

My little beauties
Found my beautiful little rings in the darlingest shop in Arab Street
They're my favourite pieces of jewellery!
Little desk and little gramophone,
I love you babies.
They're my favourite pieces of jewellery!
Little desk and little gramophone,
I love you babies.
There were lots of other beautiful pieces too, like THIS ONE
THAT GOT STUCK ON MY FINGER!!!!!!!!
I thought that I was doomed to have a old school telephone stuck on my finger for the rest of my life
and cursed myself that I hadn't stuck a prettier ring on my finger
in the end it came out with lots of soap wash
and I was happy
We bought a few other pieces too, and the shop guy put them in these awesome paper bags,
THAT HE HAD PAINTED HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!
Shopguy, I am kinda in love with you!
Work in progress!
I spent the whole morning wrestling with 1.8 x 2.2 metres of cotton cloth
and doing all sorts of mental sums in my head
38 by 22! plus 4 cm at each side for the hems!
it folds this way then that...
so I'd need to measure out...
half the afternoon ironing in the hems
and a quarter more of the afternoon trying to put the pieces together
tomorrow the real work begins!

The Adventure of the Big Red Umbrella (and me)
I'm always losing my umbrellas, so I only had a mini hissy fit when I realised that I'd left my red um. in Spotlight, at Art Friend.
P.S I have a major project brewing, it's exciting :)
I wish I had some heat transfer paper, so that I could print these lovely designs on some plain tees

I nosed around a bit and called up a company-singprint- that does heat-transfer- the paper, printing and everything for you ($8). It's the JTC factory, the only one in Whompoa Drive he said.
lo-ver-ly...

But this one, this one has my heart palpitating.
Just that this morning I discovered that my heart's in my stomach,
because when I put my hand on my stomach, I could feel my heart pounding (Yes, in my stomach!)
Plus The Mother confirmed it.
So I'll correct my sentence
But this one, this one has my heart-in-my-stomach palpitating.

It is so pretty and pink and beautiful.
We had a party the other night, and mum put together a bunch of flowers from our garden really fast. I took some pics, they are so pretty

While I was at it I caught Mikey flipping through my knitting book
It wasn't the patterns and knits that he was interested in, it was the pictures of the Merino Sheep, and the Voodoo chicken and the other barn animals in Morehouse Farm that he loved

Who knows, one day he might decide that the scarves and sweaters and mitts are just as interesting as the sheep,
and on that day I might have a new knitting buddy =)

dress-up
Our family went crazy with excitement thinking about what we wanted to go as. Family dinner Sunday was a flurry of paper sketches, bible verses and kid bible story books. We thought of going as lepers (The 9 lepers plus one Jesus) because dressing up as a leper was such a SWELL IDEA, plus omg our costume would be so frickin' easy to make. Rags, blacken our faces with make-up, slather on some starch so that it would dry up and flake like dead skin (Jie Grace strongly opposed our idea), buy fake hair extensions so that we could pull them out of our hair and frighten small children. Make fake noses, those half finger things (Papa: "During communion we could dump a fake finger into the cup!"), carry metal bowls... We were so going to win the contest hands down feet tied... until Mother pointed out that it was CHURCH we were going to, and not a costume party (sigh). Papa suggested that we could all huddle under the cross before mass started, and beg for alms (exciting, much!).
That was the end of our first idea. So blasphemous, but it was good fun. Then we though of going as the seven days of creation. Dark, light, earth, sea, animals, man, rest. Jie Grace came out with whole lot of super cool sketches, I took one look at them and flipped. All my sisters are working, I'm supposed to pull off TEN costumes in a week BY MYSELF???? ARE YOU KIDDING???? Jie France and I slaved for a good two weeks on Carrie Bradshaw's costume!
So that was the end of the 7 days of creation.
Then we thought we could go as the burning bush. Each one of us would be part of the bush, and then we could come together and VoilĂ ! The burning bush! With Jie Grace standing in the middle waving ribbons/the flame of the burning bush around!
In the end we decided to just make just one costume instead, for Mikey, since we had all won in costume parties before (Jie Grace as Carrie Bradshaw, a sea princess and a gypsie, Jie Mar as a chinese princess, Jie France as a wood fairy, myself as a Mermaid). We asked Michael what he wanted to dress up as, and he said "Noah". So Noah it was.

Adventure
My delicate (new) embroidery hoop had the greatest adventure in her life today.
As I sat at the bus-stop, she flew out of my hands, bounced down the curb, and rolled merrily across and down the road for a good 10 metres, somehow managing to avoid getting crushed beneath the tyres of at least 5 vehicles.
Just as she was about to turn into Fulton Road,
I darted across the road, picked her up, darted back again, and gave myself a pat on my back.
All was well.

The Princess Bride
Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Poison. True love. Hate. Revenge. Giants. Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautiful ladies. Snakes. Spiders. Beasts of natures and descriptions. Pain. Death. Brave men. Coward men. Strongest Men. Chases. Escapes. Lies. Truths. Passion. Miracles.I am head over heels in love with The Princess Bride! The good parts version "abridged" by William Goldman. It's my fav book ATM (at the moment, you nitwit), it even beats my long standard favourite Pride and Prejudice (Sorry about that, Jane). Not that I'd like to marry Wesley of course, although he is an expert Swordsman- Master- that bettered Inigo (Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya; you killed my father, prepare to die), a powerful pirate, wonderful wrestler amonst many other things, besides being extremely good looking and humourous (that lucky Buttercup).
In other news, I KNOW, I KNOW! My blog layout is hideous. They have always been hideous anyway, largely due to the fact that I am completely CSS or whatever you call it, illiterate. Bear with them (hem *grin*)
Note: It would be useful if you've read the book before, to fully appreciate all my phrases and seemingly nonscensical words that I have added in parenthesis (piss *grin*)
That is all my love.
