Afghanistan's only pig

Afghanistan, being a strictly muslim country, has only one known pig. So imagine the pandomonium when Afghanistan heard the news of the swine flu outbreak..

Afghanistan's only pig was quarantined.

The pig is known simply as "pig", and is the only survivor of the original pair given to Afghanistan by China in 2002. A bear ate the other pig and their offspring.

However, "despite being the only pig, it was not too lonely", Director of the zoo Aziz Gul Saqib said. 

"The pig made friends with a goat and was happy sticking to the goat in the enclosure, where some other goats and deer were on show for visitors,"
